Features: This book is a representative work of Mary Shelley, a 19th-century British female novelist. Mary Shelley was the wife of the famous 19th-century British Romantic poet, Shelley. During her time in Switzerland, Mary Shelley conceived the idea of creating a humanoid monster with superhuman abilities through conversations with Shelley and Byron, as well as being inspired by the then-popular horror novels. This is the idea behind her work, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, published in 1818. The work is considered a pioneer of "science fiction." Mary Shelley also wrote the work The Last Man, which tells the story of humanity being reduced to the last person due to the spread of a contagious disease. Lodovico is her autobiographical work.
The Geneva scientist Frankenstein is deeply concerned with the birth and death of life and attempts to find a way to give life to inanimate objects. After much effort, he finally succeeds in his "creating life" experiment, but the life form that emerges is not the human species he envisioned, but a terrifying monster. In shock, Frankenstein hastily flees. The monster, who tries to make friends with people, realizes that they reject him repeatedly because of his ugly appearance. Thus, the desperate monster develops deep hatred for Frankenstein, who ignores him, and extends this hostility to humanity. As a result, a pair of magic hands reach out to Frankenstein's loved ones and friends.
