Features: The origin of freight forwarding lies in the needs of trade. In trade, the buying and selling of goods are often over long distances, requiring the use of various transportation methods (such as sea, land, and air) and different transport tools to facilitate the movement of goods. To ensure the safety of goods, convenience in transportation, cost savings, and reduced expenses, owners must extensively gather information about transportation to select the best transportation methods, the best transport tools, the best carriers, and the lowest prices. However, in reality, the vast majority of trade owners who operate solely in trade are limited by human resources, material resources, and financial resources, making it difficult for them to achieve these goals. Moreover, due to negligence in certain aspects or lack of knowledge about related procedures, they often end up expending twice the effort for half the result, even incurring certain economic losses. To meet this need, just as in the trade sector, many agents have emerged in the field of freight transportation, known as freight forwarders. Currently, the freight forwarding industry has permeated every corner of the transportation sector, becoming an indispensable component of the freight transportation industry. With the rapid development of world trade and the flourishing domestic trade market, coupled with China's entry into the World Trade Organization, the trade environment has become more favorable, leading to a significant increase in trade volume and a surge in demand for both international and domestic freight transportation. This favorable international and domestic environment has further driven the large-scale expansion of the freight forwarding industry. However, at the same time, China's domestic freight transportation system still needs improvement, and as the primary sector responsible for freight transportation, the freight forwarding industry remains relatively underdeveloped. Although some enterprises are large-scale and highly competitive, overall, the industry lacks strength, with most enterprises being small or medium-sized. Currently, many books on freight forwarding enterprises on the market are aimed at financially robust, large-scale international freight forwarding companies with international transportation capabilities. This book, however, focuses on the operation and management of small and medium-sized freight forwarding enterprises, covering various aspects such as internal human resource management, information management, financial management, and equipment management. It is highly practical and essentially serves as an operational guide for small and medium-sized freight forwarding enterprises. It is believed to be well-received by industry professionals. This series also includes The Operation Guide for Real Estate Agencies and The Operation Guide for Career Placement Agencies.
