Features: It is common to have one book for one disease, but it is rare to write a book about a single drug, which reflects the importance of such drugs. For clinicians, the pharmacological mechanism of PPIs and their efficacy in various diseases are widely debated, with over 10,000 publications on PPIs alone. Moreover, new PPIs have been continuously introduced in the past decade, making it necessary to write a dedicated book on PPIs. This book aims to elucidate the pharmacology of PPIs at the molecular level, evaluate their clinical efficacy, and comprehensively assess different types of PPIs, thereby improving clinicians' medication standards. This is the primary purpose of compiling this book. The authors participating in its compilation, apart from me who is over 60, are all young and talented experts in China. Among them are renowned pharmacologists in the country, as well as scholars specializing in Hp research, GERD, and stress ulcers. They possess both extensive clinical experience and a solid theoretical foundation, which undoubtedly ensures the quality of this book. However, PPIs are still a relatively new class of drugs, and our understanding needs to be continuously refined.
