Features: Secretaries have become one of the popular professions in the 21st century. To many people, secretarial work seems to be easy, as they think secretaries' daily tasks involve only receiving and sending documents, organizing files, greeting visitors, attending meetings behind leaders, and taking notes without much mental effort. In reality, these tasks only account for a small part of a secretary's extensive daily work. Secretarial work is actually a highly practical and operational job that requires 100% diligence, responsibility, and meticulousness. In today's fast-paced information environment and with the advent of office automation, the pressure on secretarial work has been increasing. How to become a competent and qualified secretary has attracted widespread attention. How to construct a professional system for secretaries, cultivate and train a skilled and efficient secretarial team with high overall quality, is an important issue before us. The office is the activity space for secretaries, and office affairs are the main content of secretarial work. Therefore, secretaries must not only beautify and maintain the office environment but also manage all equipment and supplies well. They must not only arrange leaders' schedules but also coordinate time arrangements with leaders' activities to ensure that all business operations proceed in an orderly and smooth manner. They must not only receive, manage, and file various office documents promptly but also manage various forms of information resources, doing well in collection, management, and utilization, to ensure smooth internal information flow and maintain an advantage in the information competition era. This book focuses on the various aspects of secretaries' work in office affairs management and compiles the basic tasks of secretaries, i.e., the fundamental content of office affairs management. The book consists of seven chapters, including an introduction, office environment, routine office work, office supplies management, office efficiency and time management, office information resource management, and archives management. The distinctive feature of this book is that each chapter begins with a case study to introduce problems and lead into the main text, followed by a chapter summary, key concepts, reflection and exercises, and case reviews. This book is one of the modern secretarial series textbooks organized and published by the China Renmin University Press. Its primary target readers are secretarial students currently enrolled in schools, and it can also serve as a training textbook for practicing professionals.
