Fu Senlin, who grew up in Baiyun Town in the Dabie Mountains, endured more hardships than others and was admitted to Beijing Normal University with excellent results, causing a sensation in the small town. From cautious and self-examining to revelry, to reckless abandon—in the muddy world of red dust, those lost souls and selves never find peace.
