"Happy Little Readers" serves as extracurricular English reading materials for primary school students. Each level still primarily uses repetitive simple sentences, with increasing difficulty in subsequent levels, transitioning from language that reflects children's spoken characteristics to written language features. The content and topics also gradually become richer as children grow older. "Happy Little Readers" is divided into 4 levels, including 18 books, 8 audio cassettes, and accompanying "Teacher's Guides" (which contain story translations, audio script translations, lyrics and translations of English songs in the cassettes, word explanations, etc.). The structure of the entire series is as follows:
Level 1 includes 4 books and 2 audio cassettes. Suitable for students in primary school grades 2-3.
Level 2 includes 5 books and 2 audio cassettes. Suitable for students in primary school grades 3-4.
Level 3 includes 4 books and 2 audio cassettes. Suitable for students in primary school grades 4-5.
Level 4 includes 5 books and 2 audio cassettes. Suitable for students in primary school grades 5-6.
This series features beautiful illustrations, vivid language, and a wide range of story themes, including children's daily experiences, adventures, fairy tales, and natural knowledge, among others. The original audio cassettes have clear sound quality, moderate pacing, and emotionally expressive readings.
