Features: Zhao Xiuhuan was born in Beijing in 1946. She studied at the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Arts from 1964 to 1969. In 1973, she was assigned to the Beijing Art Institute to begin her artistic career. In 1985, she became a member of the China Artists Association. In 1989, she went to the United States, first arriving in Mexico, and now resides in San Jose, California. Award-winning works: In 1981, 《Shuyu》(Light Rain) won the Third Prize at the National Second Youth Art Exhibition; in 1984, 《Qingmeng》(Clear Dream) received an Excellence Award at the Municipal Art Exhibition; in 1985, 《Senlin Zhi Ge》(Song of the Forest) won the Second Prize at the 35th Anniversary National Day Memorial Art Exhibition; in 1986, 《Xiyou Muhua》(Rare Magnolia) stamp design won the Second Prize in the Seventh National Best Stamp Competition in China, and was also selected as one of the world's outstanding stamps by Japan's 《Youqu》(Stamp Interest) magazine. Major solo exhibitions: 1988, "Crown Art Center," Taipei, Taiwan; 1992, "Dunhuang Art Center," Taipei, Taiwan; 1997, "Dunhuang Art Center," Taichung, Taiwan; 1998, "Zhonghua Art City," Taipei, Taiwan; 1998, "Tsinghua University," Taipei, Taiwan, etc. This book primarily showcases Zhao Xiuhuan's ink and brush works of flowers and birds.
