The "Table 1" in the "Outline for the Mandarin Proficiency Test" lists 8,454 exam vocabulary words, while "Table 2" lists 15,467, totaling 23,921 words. Calculating the average length of each word as two characters, there are approximately 47,842 characters in total, which is a large number. Mastering them one by one is indeed quite challenging. To address this, the authors used computers to analyze the 23,921 exam words and found that there are only 4,536 unique characters. Based on the needs of the Mandarin pronunciation exam, these 4,536 characters were categorized, and various character tables required for the exam were summarized to help understand the probability of each character appearing in the exam. Additionally, the book includes dozens of mock tests composed of high-frequency characters and words. Mastering these dozens of tests will ensure success in passing the exam. This book is exam-oriented and highly effective for preparation.
