Features: This is a comprehensive and practical wind band teaching series in China, covering all eleven sections of the wind ensemble and ensemble training. Subsequently, the published collections of ensemble and chamber music compositions have enriched the repertoire of various ensemble and chamber music performances. It is the result of close collaboration between dozens of wind band experts and several music editors, who dedicated years of effort and revised it three times, meticulously crafting this work. Our goal is simple—to make both the solo and ensemble editions the best. Our writing philosophy is to integrate contemporary international wind band teaching concepts while starting from the practical realities of wind band education in China. We write as we teach, generally avoiding theoretical analysis and discussion. Emphasis is placed on intuitiveness and practicality. The text and exercise examples are designed to be concise and accurate, leaving no room for ambiguity. Accompanied by audio-visual teaching materials, this series aims to achieve self-teaching effectiveness.
The training content of Ensemble Class begins after the 13th lesson of each section. In the solo lessons, one ensemble lesson is inserted every two lessons. Additionally, full scores for ensemble lessons are provided, greatly facilitating the implementation of ensemble training. Here, we sincerely thank all the experts, predecessors, and friends from various sectors who have shown concern, support, and enthusiastic guidance. Special thanks are extended to Mr. Fu Gengchen, Chairman of the China Music Association, for his affirmation and support. We also warmly welcome feedback and corrections from all quarters regarding any shortcomings in the book.
