A distinctive feature of this era in terms of institutional systems was the chaos and complexity of the military system. As a result, until the end of the Republican era and even more than fifty years after the founding of the People's Republic of China, there has been no comprehensive work that systematically examines the military uniforms of the Republican era (including military systems, ranks, uniforms, and various insignia). This not only created a gap in the study of Chinese military uniform history but also posed significant challenges for creative personnel in the film and television and stage design industries.
