Features: This exercise book is a supplementary learning material for the textbook Comprehensive English II, which was uniformly organized and compiled by the National College Entrance Examination Commission. It is meticulously designed in strict accordance with the teaching syllabus of Comprehensive English II. The purpose of this book is not to help candidates pass the exam by cramming or relying on luck, as there is no "advice" on techniques or shortcuts in this book. Instead, the entire book focuses on deepening the understanding of Comprehensive English II (both volumes), consolidating acquired knowledge, filling in gaps caused by oversight, and fundamentally cultivating candidates' ability to use English. Of course, this book ultimately aims to help candidates pass the exam, but this "passing" is genuine and of high value, not just "cramming through." The Comprehensive English II course is an achievement-based test, not a proficiency test. In an achievement test, what is learned is what is tested, and the questions are strictly based on the teaching syllabus. The syllabus stipulates that 70% of the exam questions must cover the textbook content. This means that without studying the textbook thoroughly, there is no hope of passing the exam. This regulation forces those who rely on techniques to return to the textbook and study English earnestly.
We say this exercise book is not intended for purposes because candidates who have not completed Comprehensive English II (both volumes) cannot use it effectively. Additionally, relying solely on these 15 sets of exercises is not enough to learn English well. We want to tell candidates: Do not substitute exercises for textbook learning, and do not replace classroom study with practice exercises. We also want to tell candidates: If you have completed Comprehensive English II (both volumes) and finish one set of exercises in this book within the specified time, and your self-score is around 30 or 40 points, then you should stop doing other exercises and review the textbook again, as this would be more beneficial.
The book contains a total of 15 sets of exercises, followed by reference answers. During the writing process, we have tried our best to integrate the vocabulary, sentence patterns, grammatical phenomena, and textbook content stipulated in the syllabus into the exercises. For some more challenging or less easily grasped knowledge, we have repeatedly presented them in different forms in the exercises to help students understand and master them thoroughly.
