Features: "Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action" was initiated by the Science and Education Channel of China Central Television (CCTV). Over three years, it has embodied the spirit of China's modernization strategy driven by science and education, the persistent pursuit of "educational character, scientific quality, and cultural taste" by the channel, the courage, wisdom, and dedication of television professionals from CCTV leadership, Science and Education Channel leadership, production, and management, and the aspirations of the broad television audience. It has finally grown into a distinctive television cultural brand that has gained recognition from peers and has significant social influence. CCTV established the Science and Education Channel in 2001, marking the beginning of its professional journey in television cultural communication. Each "Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action" has strived tirelessly, avoiding complexity, and can be described as "though laborious as sifting through thousands of pebbles," it has only compiled a mere fraction of the outstanding cultural achievements from both China and the world. However, in the era of electronic communication, it is more like a seed that has continuously been sown into the hearts of a wide audience eager for knowledge. The "Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action" produced by the Science and Education Channel during the summer of 2003 was divided into seven major sections: literature, aesthetic education, history, geography, nature, science and technology, and comprehensive. The broadcast lasted for over 60 days, with a wide range of topics, rich content, and unique perspectives, permeating the vivid audio-visual world with profound philosophical thoughts and humanistic care. To facilitate the deep understanding of television programs and the mastery of related cultural knowledge, and to explore a cross-media cultural communication approach, the Social Education Program Center of CCTV collaborated with Shanghai Scientific and Technical Documents Press to integrate a batch of excellent program resources, including the "2003 Summer Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action," into book publication, naming it CCTV Science and Education Channel "Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action—Basic Storage for the Mind." The series consists of eight volumes: "Exploring the Miraculous Mysteries of the Universe" (original astronomy section), "Challenging Stories of the Earth" (original geography section), "Seeking Lost World Heritage" (original history section), "Scientific Activities That Changed Humanity" (original science and technology section), "A Literary Feast Across Time and Cultures" (original literature section), "A Heartfelt Journey Through the Artistic Hall of Fame" (original comprehensive section), "Survival Rules in the Animal World" (original nature section), and "The Long River of History in Technological Invention" (original "Manual of the Arts and Crafts"). In this way, the television "Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action" has finally stepped out of the screen with vibrant energy, reaching into the hands and hearts of the broad audience and readers. If viewers and readers find some resonance, inspiration, or convenience in their reading, then it is the scattered gold dust that the Science and Education Channel's television professionals have sent through the publication of the "Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Action" series.
