Zikai Comics

Author: Feng Zikai

Features: Among the works of Mr. Feng Zikai, the comic strips are perhaps the most renowned. Often with just a few strokes, they capture an entire mood. For example, in "After the People Depart, a Hook of New Moon in the Sky Like Water," a few tea cups and a curtain are enough to convey a profound emotion. Many of Mr. Feng's comic strips feature children as their subjects, and I particularly enjoy "Apo Bare-chested," "You Give Me a Melon to Peel, I Give You a Fan to Fan," and "The Meeting." Reading Mr. Feng's children's comic strips makes even us so-called adults feel ashamed. When will our world have less deceit, less obsession, and more nature and simplicity? As Mr. Feng once said, "temporarily detaching from the mortal world" is pleasant, peaceful, and nourishing. The original works of Feng Zikai's comic strips are rare in the market. His ink paintings, however, are more commonly found. This site currently collects 173 of Feng Zikai's comic strips, including some illustrations from his articles. It is far from comprehensive, but it represents the (heart and soul) of years of effort in collecting them.
