This series has the following characteristics:
1. Expert Introduction with Three-Point Test (Key Points, Difficult Points, Knowledge Points, Self-Assessment). The series invites foreign literature experts and professors to write introductions, clarifying the key points, difficult points, and knowledge points of the classics, helping readers better understand them. The "Self-Assessment" at the end of each book lists review and reflection questions related to the classics, catering to the learning needs of middle school students, facilitating their study and revision for exams.
2. Abridgment. The series is abridged by foreign literature experts and professors, ensuring the essence of the original works while condensing overly lengthy and redundant chapters. This enables students to better and faster grasp the classics, saving study time and achieving better results.
3. Annotations. To address the challenges of understanding the classics, the series invites experts and professors to provide detailed annotations on foreign literary schools, trends, historical events, historical figures, and place names mentioned in the classics. These annotations not only aid students in reading and comprehending the classics but also serve as a reference for teachers when preparing lessons.
Cinderella, Snow White, The Frog Prince, and The Clever Tailor—these enchanting fairy tales all come from Grimms' Fairy Tales. They were written by the German brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The brothers began collecting folk tales around 1806, visiting homes, gardens, and estates repeatedly to gather oral recordings of tales that had been passed down for centuries or even millennia. Later, they compiled and edited these materials over the years into Children and Household Tales, commonly known as Grimms' Fairy Tales, which includes a total of 216 tales.
Grimms' Fairy Tales is one of the earliest and most systematic collections of fairy tales in Europe. The brothers recorded stories passed down orally with a rigorous and faithful approach, preserving the original ideological essence and vivid, rustic artistic style of folk tales. Many of the stories reflect the simplicity, ingenuity, humor, and courage of the Germanic people, showcasing the beautiful inner world and noble moral character of the people.
