Features: This book introduces various culinary recipes in a refined yet simple way, each dish thought-provoking and every plate memorable! With this book, you can make warm parent-child meals at home, and while savoring the flavors, you can also share childhood memories and the history of Taiwan. I believe its significance is not just a cookbook but even a history of food. It will proclaim to our descendants that these— are the milk and nutrition that nourished the people of Taiwan.
At the end of the year and the beginning of spring, I once again "rolled up my sleeves" to create unique nostalgic delicacies—Taiwanese Snacks (Part 1), (Part 2), and (Part 3). Not only is this cookbook full of creativity for readers, but it was also a completely new experience for me. In the fast-paced competitive society, if you can casually enjoy authentic snacks without worrying about attire or time, it’s a relaxing pleasure for anyone! In recent years, Taiwanese tourism has flourished, and "eat wherever you play" has become the standard model of leisure life. Although the island is small, due to early mainland settlers migrating to Taiwan, its diverse geographical environments and lifestyles have given rise to various dietary habits, creating countless beloved local delicacies. For example: in the north, there are the sweet and spicy offal skewers of Keelung Temple Street, the black bean mudskipper of Tanhai, and the wind-blown rice noodles of Hsinchu; in Changhua and Chia-nan, there are rice-based foods like meatballs, glutinous rice sausages, Tainan’s Fu Shou Ban, eel noodles, and carry-out noodles; in Kaohsiung’s Qijin, there are seafood dishes like five-flavored stir-fries and small braised dishes, all highlighting the practical and folk dietary characteristics of each region.
Combining years of culinary experience and with the continued support and recognition from Mr. Zhang Wenliang of Changwen Publishing House, I traveled across the island, visiting and tasting local snacks, and then dedicated myself to creating this cookbook, which includes over a hundred thought-provoking dishes that leave every plate memorable! With this book, you can make warm parent-child meals at home, and while savoring the flavors, you can also share childhood memories and the ancient history of Taiwan. I believe its significance is not just a cookbook but even a history of food. It will proclaim to our descendants that these— are the milk and nutrition that nourished the people of Taiwan!
