In the past decade, online banking has rapidly developed worldwide with the help of IT technology. The rise of online banking has undoubtedly brought significant changes to traditional banking. It has not only allowed banks to keep pace with the knowledge economy era but also enabled consumers to experience a new service concept that is in sync with the times. Compared to the operating methods of traditional banks, online banking breaks through the limitations of time and space, theoretically extending the bank's service counters infinitely. It also features low transaction costs, secure transaction processes, convenient operation, and shortened transaction times, marking a new stage for banking services and bringing vitality to the banking industry.
The development of online banking in China has been very rapid. Since the Bank of China first launched a website in June 1996 to provide online banking services to the public, banks such as China Merchants Bank, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of Communications, and China CITIC Bank have successively introduced online banking services. Currently, over 20 banks and hundreds of branches across the country have websites and homepages, with nearly one-third of these branches engaging in substantive online banking services, and customer numbers increasing significantly year by year. All this indicates that China's banks are rapidly advancing in the field of online banking.
Connecting traditional banks with IT technology has provided excellent opportunities for sustainable development. At the same time, it has also raised higher requirements for cultivating interdisciplinary talents. In today's rapidly developing online banking landscape, it is essential to build a high-quality, interdisciplinary financial talent team that deeply understands both technology and financial operations.
