Features: As the saying goes in China, "Ice freezes three feet thick, not in a single day." As an experienced educator who has participated in national-level textbook compilation, I know that the publication of an excellent textbook requires national organization to mobilize top experts across the country, spending a significant amount of time meticulously crafting it. After reading—more accurately, after studying—Reading Weekly Plan, I believed it to be a standardized textbook designed for classroom reading instruction, as it essentially embodies the rigorous attitude and scientific spirit expected of a national-level textbook. However, Reading Weekly Plan does indeed fall under the category of teaching supplementary materials: it focuses on broadening knowledge horizons and is designed around exams. While it emphasizes strict time management in learning, it does not occupy mainstream classroom time but rather fills gaps and selects the best of the best, emphasizing the efficient use of time. If evaluated based on the general effectiveness of teaching supplementary materials, Reading Weekly Plan is undoubtedly superior to its peers.
First, using this book for English language learning allows readers to accumulate rich, contemporary British and American cultural knowledge simultaneously. Just as we accumulate the classic and magnificent Tang and Song Dynasty poems while learning Chinese, this is a book that emphasizes cultural refinement and offers intellectual expansion.
Second, through scientific and systematic training guidance, it effectively develops readers' logical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to summarize and generalize—skills that align with the research-based learning approach advocated by the New Curriculum Standards.
Third, by studying this book from beginning to end, readers can unconsciously enhance their time planning and management skills, as well as their ability to control speed. This is a subtle and gradual training and nurturing that prepares them to pass future exams quickly and effectively and to handle various life tasks with flexibility.
Last, the most valuable use of this book is that it cultivates learning interest during the learning process! So, I would say that Reading Weekly Plan is a good book, a rare gem among teaching and learning materials in the era of the New Curriculum Standards. It may even become a classic.
