During this period, significant developments and changes have occurred in management theory, methods, and practice. This revision aims to reflect these new developments and changes. The revised edition retains the style, features, and structural framework of the edition. The book remains divided into six parts: Introduction, Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Leading, and Controlling. The chapters have been reduced from 24 to 21. The focus of this revision primarily lies in the content, with updates to some outdated and obsolete material, as well as the addition and supplementation of new content to reflect recent advancements and achievements in the field of management in recent years. To accommodate the emphasis on case teaching in contemporary management education and facilitate teaching and learning for faculty and students, this revised edition includes an additional relevant case study after each part. The most significant changes and updates in this revision include: Adding a section on "Management and Environment" in Chapter 1 of the Introduction part; Adjusting and expanding content related to strategy in Chapter 4 of the Planning part; Making substantial adjustments to the chapter arrangement in the Organizing part, including a new chapter titled "Organizational Change"; Adding content on "Balanced Scorecard" and "Excellence Performance Standards" to the supervisor evaluation in the Staffing part; Providing a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the concept, types, development, and team-building techniques of teams in Section 3 of Chapter 8 of the Organizing part and Section 3 of Chapter 14 of the Leading part. Other chapters have also been rewritten and adjusted as necessary. The emphasis on the scientificity, logic, and rigor of the content remains one of the book's major features.
