Features: The history of newspapers is long, but their major development occurred in the 20th century. This book draws on the historical experience of newspaper editors from some countries around the world, especially the experience of newspaper editors since China's reform and opening-up. It explains the various levels of newspaper editing from micro to macro: briefly discusses the editorial work of contemporary newspapers, the talent cultivation for newspaper editors, the editing of reporting systems and newspapers, and other related content; and, in line with the practical needs of students in journalism departments, dedicates extensive to explaining the specific operational methods of newspaper editing, such as the selection and revision of news articles, news headlines, content layout, page editing, layout design, and photo editing. It also includes dedicated chapters on the planning and organization of reporting, cultivating students' awareness and abilities in news orientation, overall coordination, and more. The book is richly illustrated and highly practical and operational. This textbook draws on the historical experience of newspaper editors from some countries around the world, especially the experience of newspaper editors since China's reform and opening-up.
