Features: Based on the previous edition, this book has been appropriately revised with significant changes, where many topics are almost completely rewritten, hence the term "newly revised." Due to this revision, the book has become quite extensive and is published in two volumes: Volume 1 primarily covers the occurrence of obligations and the objects of obligations. While the format of this book largely retains the style of the previous edition, it still differs significantly from the old version. Based on the previous edition, this book has been appropriately revised with significant changes, where many topics are almost completely rewritten, hence the term "newly revised." Due to this revision, the book has become quite extensive and is published in two volumes: Volume 1 primarily covers the occurrence of obligations and the objects of obligations. The format of this book largely retains the style of the previous edition, but it still differs significantly from the old version. Four points deserve special mention: (1) From a methodological reflection, strengthening the critical significance of major controversies in the general theory of obligations; (2) Rigorous exploration of the context of legal interpretation and the construction of the system; (3) Legal methodology, particularly the careful consideration and prudent application of teleological interpretation and analogy; (4) A meticulous review and specific examination of the revisions to the Obligations Chapter of the "Civil Code of the Taiwan Area." It is hoped that these four aspects will help readers gradually delve into the realm of obligation law. Regarding the revised articles of the Obligations Chapter of the "Civil Code of the Taiwan Area," this book has many criticisms. With a humble and limited perspective, I am willing to share them publicly, hoping to contribute, in the slightest, to the precision and perfection of the obligation law system. However, being slow and ignorant, with subjective biases and omissions, there is much that cannot be avoided. I sincerely hope that advanced scholars, teachers, and friends will understand and still be willing to offer more guidance.
