Features: In the late 1980s, the Ministry of Education organized the compilation of core textbooks for finance and economics majors in higher education institutions, and Money and Banking was one of them. The Financial Teaching and Research Office of Renmin University of China was commissioned by the Ministry of Education (formerly the State Education Commission) to undertake the task of compiling this textbook. The authors of the initial drafts of each chapter were as follows: Chapter 1 to Chapter 2, Huang Da; Chapter 3 to Chapter 5, Li Yan; Chapter 6 to Chapter 8, Shen Weiji; Chapter 9 to Chapter 12 and Chapter 14, Wang Songqi; Chapter 13, Wang Jun; Chapter 15 to Chapter 17, Zhou Shengye. Huang Da was responsible for the revision and finalization of the entire book. In the spring of 1992, it was thoroughly reviewed and completed by Huang Da, Zhou Shengye, and Shen Weiji. This textbook was awarded the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (1997), the First Prize of the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Textbook for Higher Education (1995), and the First Prize of the Third Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award (1994). In 1996, the Ministry of Education (formerly the State Education Commission) organized the revision of this batch of core textbooks and designated it as the "Nineth Five-Year Plan" national key textbook by the Ministry of Education. For this Money and Banking textbook, which has been widely used in teaching for many years, we also believe that a comprehensive revision is necessary. The revision of the entire book was fully supervised by Shen Weiji. Li Yan (responsible for providing the revised drafts of Chapter 3 to Chapter 5) and Song Xiaohong (responsible for providing the revised drafts of Chapter 15 to Chapter 17) participated in the revision. Zhou Shengye provided guidance for the revision of Chapter 15 to Chapter 17. Huang Da was responsible for the final review, making modifications and additions. Currently, this book has been listed as a core textbook for the 21st century's economy and management majors by the Ministry of Education. When it was first completed in 1992, we said: "Even after the final draft, we felt there were still many unsatisfactory aspects. There must be errors and shortcomings that we have not yet discovered, and we sincerely welcome criticism and corrections." What we want to say today is still these two sentences.
