Laozi's Annotations and Introduction

Author: Chen Guying
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2001-08-01
Features: Professor Chen Guying is a Chinese scholar living in the United States and has taught courses on Laozi studies at National Taiwan University. The first edition of Laozi Today was published 170 years ago. After that, the author continued his research, especially after the discovery of the silk manuscripts from the Han Dynasty tombs at Mawangdui in Changsha, he extensively collected opinions from scholars and experts both at home and abroad. The book was comprehensively revised and supplemented, renamed Laozi with Annotations and Commentaries, and handed over to us for publication. We believe that after conducting in-depth research for a long time, Professor Chen Guying has provided new annotations and modern translations for the book Laozi, and has put forward his own views on the thoughts and evaluation of Laozi. Although some of these views can be further discussed and studied, they are all the results of the author's research conducted with a serious attitude. We hope that the publication of this book will promote cultural and academic exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and deepen the study of Laozi.
