Features: This book is a research outcome of the Ministry of Education's "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Towards the 21st Century," serving as a curriculum textbook for the 21st century and a planned textbook for vocational and technical colleges under the Ministry of Education. The book was organized and compiled based on the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Mechanical Design Courses for Mechanical Majors in Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges Towards the 21st Century" proposed by the fourth sub-project group of the original Ministry of Education's research project on "Research and Practice of Reforming Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems for Engineering Drawing and Mechanical Basics Series Courses in Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges Towards the 21st Century" (specifically, the sub-project group on "Research and Practice of Reforming Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems for Mechanical Design and Mechanical Parts Series Courses in Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges Towards the 21st Century"). It integrates the theoretical mechanics, material mechanics, mechanical principles, mechanical parts, and tolerance and fit of typical parts for vocational and technical college mechanical majors, featuring significant reform efforts. The book is divided into two volumes, containing a total of 21 chapters. The first volume consists of 10 chapters, with the first chapter being an introduction and the remaining nine chapters covering the analysis and design of common mechanisms and the necessary mechanical foundations. The second volume contains 11 chapters, with chapters 11 to 20 introducing the fundamental theories and methods for calculating the strength and stiffness of components, as well as the design of general mechanical parts, while the 21st chapter focuses on the motion design of mechanical transmission systems. This book can be used as a textbook for mechanical design courses in mechanical majors at vocational and technical colleges, secondary vocational colleges, adult colleges, and two-year technical colleges under universities, as well as for reference by relevant engineering technicians.
