Author Bio: Qiao Qiao, whose birth name is Zhang Jie and who was formerly known as Zhang Hanqiao, is of Han ethnicity and was born in Wuhan in 1948. A gynecologist, she worked in multiple hospitals and clinics in Wuhan. In 1982, she moved to Beijing. In 1986, she went to the United States and settled there.
