Features: This book collects the recorded interviews of 17 prominent figures in China's media industry, including Fang Hanqi, 76, and Yang Lan, 34. The interviewees cover the regions of the mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and represent diverse identities. There are academicians who dedicate themselves to "carrying forward the legacy of the sages," renowned journalists and critics who hold high-ranking positions as provincial and ministerial officials, as well as those who, though far from the center of power, still care deeply for their country. In terms of contributions, there are those over 70 who continue to fight against corrupt officials and tycoons, hardworking and ambitious "newcomers" in the press, and young and ambitious individuals who have already amassed fortunes. From an academic background, there are those who claim to have learned warfare by reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin, rising from practical experience to theory; there are "native experts" who grew up in China and deeply understand the nation; and there are overseas returnees aiming to surpass their predecessors. Most of the interviewers are master's and doctoral students from the journalism departments of prestigious universities in Beijing, Tianjin, and Guangzhou. The interviewees were selected personally without deliberate arrangement. Such "curatorial" behavior may seem arbitrary, but it is spontaneous and natural, reflecting the genuine respect and influence of the selected individuals.
