Features: Foreign Legal History is an important foundational course in law. Learning and mastering the relevant knowledge of foreign legal history plays a significant role in promoting the development of socialist rule of law in China. This textbook is primarily based on "Foreign Legal History," one of the "21st Century Law Series Textbooks" by Renmin University of China, and draws on the important achievements of relevant textbooks both domestically and internationally. It has been compiled based on the long-term teaching experience of the authors. Compared to previous textbooks, this one has three main characteristics: First, it organizes the discussion around legal systems as the main framework and the legal development of typical countries as the thread, presenting a more concise and compact structure. Second, it places greater emphasis on summarizing the legal experiences of modern developed countries, with more than two-thirds of the content dedicated to modern and contemporary law. Many chapters cover the new developments in law from the late 1990s to the early 21st century. Third, it includes several boxed sections and illustrations to explain some important and complex issues in a clear and concise manner, making it easier for readers to grasp key knowledge points.
