Features: The study of Ci poetry reached its peak during the Song Dynasty. When reading Song Dynasty Ci, one should seek its style and spirit, with style being particularly important. The state of "harmonious perfection" is a must for scholars to attain, and there is even a higher realm beyond it, which cannot be reached hastily—this is related to one's academic ability. The spirit originates from one's nature and talent. Once the style reaches its utmost beauty, it naturally radiates a clear and fragrant aura that cannot be concealed. In recent times, the pursuit of petty charm and fleeting beauty has led to the decline of Ci poetry; many spend half their lives without glimpsing the path of the Song masters, let alone the inner sanctum. I have never heard of anyone who could meet the ancient masters in spirit, collect and select their finest works, and serve as a guide for those who wish to learn. Mr. Qiangcun once selected "Three Hundred Poems of Song Ci" as a learning resource for his disciple, Ruan Yinan. His selection focused on style, spirit, and the pursuit of harmonious perfection as the main principle. Harmonious perfection is the ultimate goal. Those who can follow the path and adhere to the principles within these three hundred poems will surely be able to draw from the essence and breadth beyond them. By seeking divine inspiration and transformation beyond the words, there will be an invisible convergence and natural creation between style and spirit, further advancing beyond harmonious perfection. This, however, is still not the final destination.
