Features: The content and format of this series are roughly divided into several parts, including the definition of thematic couplets (including basic knowledge), appreciation of exemplary couplets, writing tips, and a collection of famous couplets. Each thematic section varies in content composition and scope of application, with varying levels of elaboration. The appreciation of exemplary couplets also varies depending on the abundance of classic stories, obscure terms, and special structures, with explanations ranging from detailed to concise. The collection of famous couplets aims to provide readers with more references and research materials. The series does not strictly enforce uniformity in format across different volumes. Common elements should also exhibit unique characteristics, avoiding forced conformity. What is appropriate should be done, and what should end should be stopped. For example, in Modern and Ancient Couplets with Humor, in addition to appreciating the clever and humorous aspects of couplet art, the book also demonstrates to readers that folk couplets passed down through the generations have a great deal of freedom. They differ significantly from the well-crafted couplets of scholars, which are characterized by clear tones, regular scales, and rigid structures. Some folk couplets are simply instances of parallelism in language, so they are all included. This is elaborated on in the preface, with the aim of broadening readers' perspectives and letting lovers of couplets know that there are indeed some "inappropriate issues" within the world of couplets. Another example is How to Write Calligraphy Couplets. This topic is very important because couplets are closely linked to other cultural phenomena, most notably calligraphy. In daily cultural life, "couplet calligraphy" (also known as "calligraphy couplets," or elegantly referred to as "lian mo") encounters many problems. The main issues include "understanding couplets but not being able to write them, being able to write but not understanding couplets; recognizing characters but not distinguishing styles, writing couplets but not understanding inscriptions; not being able to name the format, and writing the upper and lower couplets in reverse order," often leading to humorous situations. Such misalignments in literary matters are not uncommon even among "esteemed masters," who often find themselves in awkward situations. The book provides detailed explanations on the concept of "lian mo," calligraphy scripts, various types of applied couplets, the suitability of formats for book works, and the layout of lines and characters in "lian mo" integration. It is richly illustrated with text and images, offering both authoritative and exemplary content. The selected exemplary works of "lian mo" are mostly treasures from renowned masters of past generations, showcasing the author's extensive knowledge and insight. It can be confidently said that each volume of the series embodies decades of the author's academic insights and research achievements. Although the tens of thousands of words may not seem impressive, the abundant content and incisive explanations are truly beneficial to readers.
