The research in this book is divided into two main parts: coniferous wood and broadleaf wood. The cell tissue measurements initially adopted the regular point-counting method. However, due to the unclear boundaries of cell walls under the microscope and the limited number of observation samples, the reliability and representativeness of the data were poor, making the measurement process time-consuming and inefficient. Later, with the introduction of image analyzers, most of the data (except for the length of tracheids) were revised to be measured using image analysis technology.
