Author: Xie Chuyu

Publishing Date: 2002-01-01
Features: Xie Chuyu's Oil Painting Art, which includes over 30 works, was recently published by Tianjin Yangliqing Fine Arts Publishing House. Xie Chuyu is currently an associate professor in the Oil Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In recent years, his nudes have been widely pirated through reproduction and printing. One case involving the infringement of the painting Tao by a certain oral liquid brand was listed as one of China's top ten advertising disputes in 1999. A series of nudes, including Tao, have appeared on the walls of numerous restaurants, bars, and hair salons, as well as on various calendars and product packaging, disrupting public perception. The publication of Xie Chuyu's Oil Painting Art has helped to clarify the situation. Many of Xie Chuyu's works exhibit a smooth, harmonious, and full style, with human figures that are nearly flawless. His other works convey the artist's romantic sentiment and his reflections on life. Works such as Southern Country Girl, Chinese Girl (participated in the China Oil Painting Art Exhibition, collected by the China Artists Association), Green Mountains, Fragrance Fades in Dreams, Traces of Time, The Traveler, and the still-life Punching Glove on Wood (participated in the Excellent Works Exhibition of the 8th National Fine Arts Exhibition) are all thought-provoking. Xie Chuyu's Oil Painting Art is included in the "Series of Fine Selections of Contemporary Chinese Oil Painting Masters," and its exquisite design and printing have been widely praised. Readers who find it difficult to see the original oil paintings can view the representative works of Xie Chuyu's art through this book.
