Features: Wang Li's Poetic Rhythm of the Chinese Language is a foundational work that comprehensively studies Chinese poetic techniques. In the preface, he states, "My original motivation for writing this book was for teaching, so I first introduce the basics. Although the senior university students are already in their advanced years, since none of the previous courses have covered poetic rhythm, perhaps many of them still don't understand what 'pingpingzhezhepingping' means. From the perspective of common sense, it seems still necessary." This reveals that Wang Li's work is primarily a specialized monograph on the basics of poetry and ci, making it not only suitable for university students but also for general poetry enthusiasts. Poetic Rhythm of the Chinese Language was originally divided into five chapters and was quite extensive. To allow more poetry enthusiasts to benefit from it, the 'ci' (a form of Chinese poetry) was extracted and published separately as Wang Li's Study of Ci Rhythm. Additionally, the original 'Introduction' was attached to the standalone edition to help readers gain a comprehensive understanding of the methods of Chinese poetry and ci.
