Features: This specification was revised by the Building Research Institute of the Metallurgical Industry under the former State Metallurgical Industry Administration, organizing relevant units to revise the National Standard "Technical Specification for Composite Steel Formwork" GBJ214—89, in accordance with the Ministry of Construction's document No. 244, "Notice on Issuing the Second Batch of Plans for the Formulation and Revision of National Engineering Construction Standards in 1998." The specification consists of six chapters and ten appendices, including General Provisions, Basic Regulations, Manufacturing and Inspection of Composite Steel Formwork, Construction Design of Formwork Engineering, Construction and Acceptance of Formwork Engineering, Transportation, Maintenance, and Storage of Composite Steel Formwork. The main revisions include: adding specifications and varieties of steel formwork and accessories; modifying the quality standards for the manufacturing of steel formwork and accessories; and supplementing relevant provisions on construction and acceptance, installation and dismantling, safety and inspection, maintenance and management. This specification is a national standard and shall come into effect on October 1, 2001. From the date of its implementation, the original National Standard "Technical Specification for Composite Steel Formwork" GBJ214-89 shall be abolished simultaneously. This specification applies to the design, manufacturing, construction, and technical management of composite steel formwork for cast-in-place concrete engineering and prefabricated concrete components in industrial and civil buildings and general structures.
