In northern England, there is a place called Wuthering Heights. Its owner, Earnshaw, adopted an orphan and named him Heathcliff. Earnshaw brought him up alongside his son Hindley and daughter Catherine (Cathy). Heathcliff grew up with Cathy and fell in love with her, but Hindley despised him deeply. After Earnshaw's death, Hindley became the master of Wuthering Heights and did everything in his power to torment Heathcliff, deepening their hatred. However, Heathcliff's love for Cathy remained unchanged. The son of the owner of the neighboring Thrushcross Grange, Edgar, proposed to Cathy. The naive and immature Cathy agreed to marry Edgar, hoping to use his family's wealth to help Heathcliff escape his brother's persecution. Upon learning that Cathy was to marry Edgar, Heathcliff left in a fit of rage.
Several years later, a handsome and distinguished guest arrived at Edgar's house. It was the long-lost Heathcliff, who had become wealthy and returned to his homeland. When he saw Heathcliff return and become wealthy, he surprisingly invited him to stay at the estate. Heathcliff easily exploited Hindley's vices and acquired all his property. Edgar's sister, Isabella, saw Heathcliff as a legendary hero and fell in love with him. Heathcliff tricked her into marrying him and cruelly treated her afterward. Isabella left him after realizing his true nature and later gave birth to a son, Linton. Cathy died in childbirth, leaving behind a daughter, also named Cathy. After Isabella's death, Heathcliff took Linton back and manipulated him into falling in love with Cathy. When Linton fell seriously ill, Heathcliff abducted Cathy, forced her to marry his son Linton, and seized the entire Lin estate, completing his revenge. Linton soon died, and Cathy fell in love with Harryton, Hindley's son, which went against Heathcliff's wishes. At the same time, Heathcliff was tormented by Cathy's ghost, unable to sit or lie down in peace. Through the eyes of Harryton and Cathy, he saw the Cathy of his youth. Love conquered hatred, and he could no longer bear to continue his endless revenge. He set out to find Cathy. On a stormy night, filled with emptiness and the bitterness of life, he called out her name and left this world.
