Features: Renowned figures and experts in the field of English discuss reading. Dry English sentences are not effective; do not always focus on improving English as the sole purpose of reading. Reading is primarily about absorbing knowledge, and in the process of absorbing knowledge, language is naturally absorbed. Thinking in English is a goal many English learners aspire to, as it is the foundation for expressing thoughts fluently in English. For Chinese students living in a non-English environment, achieving partial or complete thinking in English is indeed challenging, but it is not unattainable. From my own experience learning English, I have found that persistent extensive reading is one of the most effective ways to achieve this goal. For intermediate and advanced English learners, I particularly recommend English easy readers. The materials should be easy to understand, with strong storytelling elements, and the reading speed should be as fast as possible. The more you read, the better. This is a proven and effective method for learning English. This series contains works worth reading throughout your life. Reading these works not only improves your English proficiency but also enhances your personal cultivation.

Sufficient audio input is the source of in-depth English communication. This series is designed for leisure reading after class or work. Its advantage is to help you integrate English learning into your daily life, making English a part of your life. This is the true essence of English success, and more importantly, the essence of success in any challenging endeavor.
Synopsis: The story takes place in a small, ordinary town on the Mississippi River in the mid-19th century. Tom Sawyer is a mischievous boy who lives with his aunt Polly, who is his guardian along with his half-brother. He always comes up with various pranks, leaving Aunt Polly helpless, and he always finds ways to avoid punishment. One day, Tom meets the lovely Becky Thatcher, the daughter of Judge Thatcher. He immediately becomes infatuated with her, and his affection seems to be reciprocated. In the town, there is a boy named Huckleberry Finn. His father is an alcoholic who constantly fights with his mother, so he lives alone. He seems out of place in civilized society, and adults dislike him, but he is Tom’s close friend. One day, they make a plan to go to the graveyard at night but witness an unexpected scene. They see Dr. Robinson, the villain Injun Joe, and the drunkard Muff Potter. In their chaotic fight, Injun Joe kills the doctor and then frames the unconscious Potter. Tom and Huck are terrified and swear an oath to keep the secret. After Potter is arrested, Tom feels extremely guilty and often visits him. At this time, Tom faces nothing but misfortune: Becky is angry with him and ignores him, and Aunt Polly constantly scolds him. He feels as if no one cares about him. So, Tom, Huck, and another boy from the village take a boat to an island. However, soon they realize that the villagers think they have drowned and are searching for their bodies. Tom sneaks back to Aunt Polly’s house at night and finds her grieving over his “death.” Tom feels deeply ashamed. In the end, the three of them return during the funeral the villagers hold for them. As summer approaches, Tom becomes even more uneasy, as the judge is about to sentence Potter for his crimes. Tom finally overcomes his fear and selfishness, revealing that Injun Joe is the real killer. However, the murderer still escapes. Later, Tom comes up with another idea: to find treasure. Tom and Huck accidentally discover Injun Joe and his vast ill-gotten wealth. But they don’t know where he hid the money. While Becky and her classmates go on a picnic, Huck learns that Injun Joe plans to harm Widow Douglas, as her husband once sent him to jail. Fortunately, Huck warns her in time, preventing a tragedy. But Injun Joe escapes again. Meanwhile, while on a picnic, Tom and Becky enter a cave and become lost because it is too deep. They encounter Injun Joe again inside the cave. After the villagers struggle to rescue Tom and Becky, they seal the cave shut. Later, Tom tells the villagers that Injun Joe is still inside. When they find him, he has died in the cave. The villains receive their just rewards. Tom and Huck return to the cave and find the treasure.
