Yunnan Plant Gazetteer is a specialized work recording wild and commonly cultivated higher plants in Yunnan, divided into three major categories: bryophytes, ferns, and seed plants. This volume records 15 families, 117 genera, 952 species, and 114 subspecies/varieties of seed plants. The book provides brief descriptions of the characteristics of families and genera, and includes keys for identification. It also details the name (Chinese official name, alias, Latin name, and synonyms), morphology, distribution, and habitat of each plant. For economically valuable plants, their uses are briefly introduced. Approximately half of the species are accompanied by morphological feature illustrations or full-plant images, with a total of 188 plates.
