Features: This book is a planned teaching material for vocational colleges and polytechnic schools under the Ministry of Education. From the perspective of engineering technology applications, it combines the basic classic linear control theory with the commonly used and typical automatic control systems in actual production processes. The entire book is centered around automatic control systems. In terms of organization, the control theory, which serves as an analytical tool and provides guidance for practical automatic control system applications, is presented first, followed by the relevant automatic control system content, which is organically integrated. The presentation is designed to be thorough yet accessible, easy to understand. For the control theory content, the focus is on clarifying concepts, principles, approaches, and methods, accompanied by application examples. It is concise and rigorous, omitting lengthy mathematical derivations and proofs. For the automatic control system content, the emphasis is on widely used, important, and typical systems in engineering, focusing on analyzing their working principles, characteristics, advantages, disadvantages, application scenarios, and engineering tuning and commissioning. Given the rapid development of computer control systems, which have already been and will continue to be widely applied, the book also provides a concise introduction to the characteristics, analysis methods, and some engineering implementation issues of computer control systems. The book is divided into eight chapters: Basic Knowledge of Automatic Control, Mathematical Models of Automatic Control Systems, Dynamic Characteristics of Controlled Objects, Time-Domain Analysis of Automatic Control Systems, Frequency-Domain Analysis of Automatic Control Systems, Single-Loop Control Systems, Complex Control Systems, and Computer Control Systems. At the end of each chapter, there is a summary of its main content along with requirements, and a set of review questions and exercises are provided to help reinforce the material and train the ability to flexibly apply and analyze problems. The book also includes reference answers to the exercises at the end of each section. This book is suitable for students in electrical and information-related majors in vocational colleges, polytechnic schools, and non-electrical majors in science and engineering universities at the undergraduate level. It is also suitable for adult colleges, radio and television universities, and vocational colleges in electrical and information-related majors, as well as for reference by relevant engineering technicians.
