Physical Chemistry. Volume 1

Author: Department of Physical Chemistry, Tianjin University
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2001-12-01
Features: This book is revised based on the third edition, according to the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Physical Chemistry in Higher Engineering Colleges" reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Education in 1995, as well as teaching usage. The book largely retains its original framework while making appropriate updates and adjustments in content. The laws of thermodynamics and the second law of thermodynamics have been rewritten, with the use of molality as the scale for solute composition to further simplify the presentation. The book is published in two volumes. The first volume mainly includes the pVT relationships of gases, the laws of thermodynamics, the second law of thermodynamics, thermodynamics of multicomponent systems, chemical equilibrium, and phase equilibrium. The second volume mainly includes electrochemistry, fundamentals of quantum chemistry, an introduction to statistical thermodynamics, surface phenomena, chemical kinetics, and colloid chemistry.
