Features: This book is based on the writing of Ye Feisheng and Xu Tongqiang (Outline of Linguistics) and serves as supplementary teaching material for the "Introduction to Linguistics" course offered by the Chinese Language and Literature program jointly organized by the Central Radio & TV University and Peking University. It is suitable for self-study by radio university students and can also be referenced by college teachers and linguistics enthusiasts. The book consists of two parts: teaching guidance and comprehensive exercises. The following details the relevant information:
1. Teaching Guidance: This section focuses on teaching highlights and key points analysis, organized by chapter. It includes the teaching objectives of each chapter, analysis of key and difficult issues, and study tips and suggestions. Additional content added according to the teaching syllabus, such as categories of linguistics, linguistic schools, feature and field analysis, etc., is also supplemented here. To help students grasp the learning content, we provide concise introductions to the main learning content, objectives, important terminology, and overall study suggestions for each chapter at the beginning of each chapter.
2. Comprehensive Exercises: These exercises are organized by chapter and include question types such as term definitions, fill-in-the-blanks, true-or-false, multiple-choice, comprehensive analysis, and short-answer questions. They are scored on a percentage basis to facilitate self-assessment by students. It should be noted that the self-assessment questions for each chapter cover limited content and are illustrative in nature, not comprehensive enough to cover all learning material. Therefore, they should not be used as a review scope. To save space, the answers to the comprehensive exercises are not provided.
