Features: College Chinese plays a vital role in the cultivation of high-level specialized talents as one of the essential quality education courses. Based on this understanding and considering the current situation of students, this textbook pays special attention to the following three points in its writing style:
1. Guided by History: It selects representative works of important writers from each historical period in accordance with the development of literary history. The selection criteria are: healthy ideological content, rich cultural connotation, artistic originality, high aesthetic value, and ease of instruction.
2. Moderate Selection: The book includes various literary works from ancient and modern times, as well as Chinese and foreign literature. Ancient works constitute a larger proportion, aiming to improve students' classical literary appreciation and enhance their understanding of China's excellent cultural traditions. According to the class schedule, some works are provided for classroom instruction by teachers, while others are for students' self-study outside of class.
3. Conducive to Teacher Instruction and Student Self-Study: The book provides a brief introduction to each writer, and all selected texts (with necessary annotations for ancient works) are summarized in a "Note" format to highlight their ideological and artistic characteristics. Except for minor technical adjustments where necessary, the selected works are preserved in their original form.
