Features: The "French-Chinese·Chinese-French Proper Nouns Dictionary" is a comprehensive reference book featuring bidirectional French-Chinese proper noun entries. Based on references from various dictionaries worldwide, the book selects approximately 6,500 entries, excluding those that are relatively obscure. The main body of the text is arranged in alphabetical order of French letters. Each entry generally consists of three parts: French proper noun, Chinese translation, and a brief explanation. If an entry has a unique pronunciation with verifiable sources, an International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) notation is added. For clarity and conciseness in explanations, some entries use abbreviations, such as: (Rel) for religion, (GrMyth) for Greek mythology, (RoMyth) for Roman mythology, (Fr) for France, (Eng) for England, and (USA) for the United States. The Chinese translations adhere to the principle of "following the original naming conventions, established usage, and majority consensus." To facilitate reverse searches, a "Pinyin Index of Chinese Entries" is appended at the end of the book, enabling dual-use functionality.
