Features: Based on this understanding and considering the current situation of students, this textbook pays special attention to the following three points in its writing style:
1. Taking history as the guiding principle, it selects representative works of important writers from each historical period according to the development of literary history. The selection criteria are: healthy ideological content, rich cultural connotation, artistic originality, high aesthetic value, and ease of instruction.
2. Moderately selected, this book includes 87 works of poetry, prose, and other genres from ancient and modern times, China and abroad. Ancient works account for a larger proportion, aiming to improve students' classical literary literacy and enhance their understanding of China's excellent cultural traditions through study. According to the class schedule, some works are provided for teachers' classroom instruction, while others are for students' self-study outside of class.
3. Beneficial for both teachers' instruction and students' self-study. This book provides a brief introduction to each writer, and all selected texts (with necessary annotations for ancient works) are summarized in the form of "hints" to outline their ideological and artistic characteristics. Additionally, each article is accompanied by one to three thought-provoking questions. The works selected in this book, except for minor technical adjustments where necessary, are kept in their original form.
