Features: The "Rules of Competition for Rowing in China" (2004) is revised based on the 1995 edition and incorporates the "Rules of Competition of the International Rowing Federation" (2003 version), taking into account the actual development of rowing in China. The new rules have introduced new regulations in many areas following changes in the International Rowing Federation's rules, such as weight control for lightweight athletes and coxswains, weight measurement of racing boats, starting procedures and commands, and time trials. However, in terms of clothing and equipment advertising, the rules differ from international standards, catering to China's practical conditions. During the writing process, we adopted a method of summarization and to include practices from China's rowing competition that align with international norms while also being suitable for China's realities, aiming to promote the healthy development of China's rowing industry. In terms of expression, we have strived to conform to the linguistic habits of Chinese. Strictly adhering to the rules is a common requirement for all competition organizers and participants to ensure the smooth conduct of competitions. Whether fairness, openness, and impartiality are achieved during the competition is an important standard for evaluating its success. Therefore, we hope that coaches, athletes, referees, and other professionals and enthusiasts in the rowing community will study these rules thoroughly, continuously improve their skills, enhance their understanding of the principles of rowing, and contribute to the further development of China's rowing industry.
