Features: Since the reform and opening-up, the increase in high-performance products, specialization in product production, advancements in coating technology, and technical exchanges, interactions, and alignment with foreign countries have made coating additives, as an important means of driving technological progress in the contemporary era, increasingly draw people's attention. After years of communication, application, introduction, digestion, and screening, there is a pressing need for reference books and guidance on coating additives. To better utilize additives and improve product quality, the book "Coating Additives" – A Handbook of Varieties and Performance, edited by Qian Fenglin and Zhu Yushu, was published in 1990. It has now been reprinted for the sixth time, with a total print run of over 20,000 copies. Coating additives are an indispensable component of coatings, as they can improve production processes, maintain storage stability, enhance application conditions, and improve product quality while imparting special functions. Proper and rational selection of additives can reduce costs and increase economic benefits. This handbook introduces 26 categories of additives from nearly 200 manufacturers in domestic and international markets (including Taiwan). The categories include: adhesion improvers, anti-sticking agents, anti-pouring agents, anti-flaking and anti-floating agents, defoamers and anti-foaming agents, anti-settling agents, conductive control agents, antioxidants, anti-scaling agents, defoamers and anti-foaming agents, anti-settling agents, conductive control agents, biocides, bactericides, fungicides, and preservatives, coalescing agents, corrosion inhibitors, rust inhibitors, dispersants, wetting agents, driers, curing catalysts, flame retardants, flow control agents, spinning assistants, leveling agents, matting agents, light stabilizers, photosensitizers, optical brighteners, plasticizers, slip and scratch-resistant agents, thickeners, thixotropic agents, and other additives. Each category is organized as follows: overview and product introduction. Each product is divided into five columns: trade name, supplier, composition, performance and application, and usage instructions. It also includes a supplier product index and a supplier address index to facilitate users in selecting additives based on their needs. This book can serve as a reference for researchers, engineering technicians, technical workers, and faculty and students of universities and colleges engaged in research, production, and application of coatings, as well as for technicians in related industries.
