Features: "Start Your Business" (SYB) is a training program. It is designed for individuals who have ideas to start a business and are genuinely planning to do so. The program introduces participants to the various steps involved in starting a business and guides them on how to conduct feasibility studies for their entrepreneurial ventures. The goal of the "Start Your Business" training program is to enable individuals with entrepreneurial aspirations to practice implementing the steps of starting a business, complete their own business plans, and receive follow-up support to help them establish sustainable micro-enterprises. The "Start Your Business" teaching material includes a Business Awareness Training Manual, a Business Plan Training Manual, and a Business Plan Template. The Business Awareness Training Manual assesses whether participants are suitable for entrepreneurship and whether they have practical business ideas. The Business Plan Training Manual guides participants through the various stages and steps of starting a business, helping them evaluate the viability of their potential enterprise. The Business Plan Template is the final outcome of the training, where participants systematically fill in the exercises completed during the training to form their own business plan. Based on this plan, they can take action to start their own business. The "Start Your Business" teaching material was introduced to China by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Chinese Ministry of Labour and Social Security through the ILO/PEP (Urban Employment Promotion Project) in collaboration with the ILO's "Start and Improve Your Business" (SIYB) project in Vietnam. It was developed based on the Vietnamese version of the "Start Your Business" material, maintaining the original framework while adapting necessary content and extensively refining the text. After pilot testing in cities participating in the PEP project and non-participating cities, it received positive feedback from both teachers and participants, proving that, like in other countries, it is indeed a training material tailored for micro-entrepreneurs. The introduction and development of the material were supported technically by the ILO's SIYB Vietnam project and financially by the Japanese government. In 2003, to further promote the development of entrepreneurship training across the country, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security organized experts to revise the material in line with China's specific conditions, resulting in the book you see today.
