Cohen-Gold: Symphony in F-sharp Major, Op. 40

Author: (Austrian) Kornfeld Composer
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2004-04-01
Features: When Erich Wolfgang Kornfeld composed his "Symphony in F-sharp Major" in the mid-20th century, the environment was not favorable to the genre he represented. The proponents of the mainstream new music at the time dismissed the symphony, as it inherited the aesthetics and ideological essence of the 19th century. While the proponents of new music occasionally returned to traditional genres, they preferred experimental methods or at least added a layer of "small-scale" to the titles of their works.
