Introduction: National Technical Measures for Civil Building Engineering Design is a large-scale technical document organized by the Department of Engineering Quality and Safety Supervision and Industry Development of the Ministry of Construction, jointly compiled by the China Academy of Building Research and other units over a period of two years. It primarily guides the design of civil building engineering and consists of seven sub-series: Planning and Architecture, Structures, Water Supply and Drainage, HVAC and Power, Electrical, Building Product Selection Technology, and Air-Raid Shelters. The purpose of its compilation is to better implement laws and regulations such as the Regulations on the Quality Management of Construction Projects and technical standards for engineering construction, such as the Mandatory Provisions for Engineering Construction Standards, in order to further improve the quality and efficiency of civil building design. It is intended for reference and implementation by design units across the country, as well as for construction units and teaching, scientific research, and construction personnel.
The main content of the Planning and Architecture sub-series is divided into two parts. Part 1: Planning General Layout, including 8 chapters: General Principles, Site General Layout, Vertical Design, Roads, Parking Lots, Outdoor Activities and Sports Grounds, Green Landscape and Environmental Design, and Comprehensive Pipelines. Part 2: Architectural Design, including 16 chapters: General Principles, Individual Design, Basements, Walls, Floor Slabs, Roofs, Stairs and Ramps, Elevators, Escalators, Automatic Walkways, Doors and Windows, Other Parts, Interior Decoration Engineering, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Equipment Rooms, and Barrier-Free Design for Buildings.
Characteristics of the content. Part 1: Planning – For the first time, it includes relevant content on the integration of site planning and urban planning. In line with current needs, in addition to enriching the content of site general layout design, it also compiles and enriches environmental landscape design content, including technical aspects of various water features, architectural ornaments, and greening design. Part 2: Architecture – In addition to building components and structural details, it also includes interior decoration engineering, equipment rooms, and barrier-free design for buildings. New technologies and materials are adopted in each section to promote technological advancement.
