Features: In The Fear Street Files, twelve-year-old Ellen White and her best friend Maddie are huge fans of horror movies. They especially love the Fear Street series, knowing the characters and plots inside out. In Fear Street, there are all sorts of terrifying monsters, like the Toadman, the Wolf-Crab, the Electric Eel Woman, the Mad Meat Grinder, and more. Ellen and Maddie are very curious and desperately want to visit this dreamlike movie studio. Their chance finally comes when the trolley they are on gets stuck in a cave filled with reptiles. A swarm of giant mantises starts attacking them. "Oh my god, this isn't a movie—it's real!" Ellen and Maddie struggle to escape the cave and end up at a cemetery, where suddenly many green hands reach out from the ground and grab them.
In The Devil’s Mask II, sixth-grader Steve Boswell gets punished by his gym teacher for pulling pranks, forced to train the first-grade soccer team every day after school. This "teacher" is made fun of and tormented by his "students"—they even made a cement soccer ball (painted in black and white) for him to kick. Steve swears revenge. Halloween is coming, and Steve remembers the mask Whitney wore last Halloween. Ugly and terrifying, yet totally cool. After some effort, Steve finally manages to get a mask too—a scary one. He can’t wait to see the kids scatter in fear and scream. But when Steve puts on the mask, he can’t take it off. He actually turns into a grizzled old man—wild hair, wrinkled face, spiders crawling in his ears, and aching back and shoulders. What on earth is going on?
