It is world-famous for its picturesque West Lake, and has gradually established a provincial tourism network centered around Hangzhou, forming four premium tourism routes: Eastern Zhejiang Water Towns and Buddhist Land, Southern Zhejiang Mountain and Water Scenery, Western Zhejiang Famous Mountains and Waters, and Northern Zhejiang Silk Towns. Zhejiang not only features stunning landscapes but also abundant plant life, with 45 species, including the ginkgo, cold fir, and Baishanzu cold fir, listed as nationally protected. The region is predominantly mountainous and hilly, with the saying "seven mountains, one water, and two fields" describing its terrain. Zhejiang's natural scenery and cultural landmarks complement each other, featuring distinct characteristics that can be summarized as "green mountains and clear waters, silk capital villages, calligrapher's Buddhist land, and a land of cultural relics."
