This book summarizes the teaching content of Professor Max Doerner at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts titled "Materials of the Painter and Their Application in Painting" over the past 25 years. It not only includes my decades of accumulated practical experience but also my research findings in the entire field of painting. The various laws regarding painting materials are the same for all painters, regardless of which school they belong to. No matter which painter, if they want to use materials in the best way and correctly, they must understand and follow these laws, otherwise, they will eventually pay a high price for their mistakes. A painter can only lay a solid foundation for developing a personal style and ensure the longevity of their works by fully mastering various materials. This book focuses on the painter making various materials themselves. Painters who make materials themselves can understand their materials through a very different path compared to those who buy ready-made materials.
