Features: The entire book follows the timeline of Three Kingdoms historical events, with textual narration as the framework, and traditional Chinese painting as the visual carrier. Text, image, and illustration are closely integrated to systematically introduce the history of the Three Kingdoms. In this sense, it is a new attempt to fill a gap in the history of Three Kingdoms cultural dissemination. The history of the Three Kingdoms is both a whole and a process of three parallel regimes developing individually, struggling against each other, and intersecting. To adapt to this fundamental characteristic, we have divided the book into three volumes: "Illustrated Three Kingdoms: Cao Wei," "Illustrated Three Kingdoms: Liu Shu," and "Illustrated Three Kingdoms: Sun Wu," each highlighting events involving two or three of the regimes. Depending on the specific situation, the same event is narrated in varying levels of detail and with different emphases in different volumes. Additionally, to help readers understand the overall historical context, each volume includes a "Timeline of Major Events in the Late Han and Three Kingdoms Period." When reading any volume, readers can refer to the "Timeline" at any time to organize scattered and complex events clearly, ensuring chronological order while also covering the three regimes of Wei, Shu, and Wu, thus comprehensively grasping the political landscape of the time. To showcase the vibrant diversity of Three Kingdoms culture, the book not only employs the vivid and intuitive form of text-image comparison but also supplements it with freehand story illustrations, portraits of key figures, photos and descriptions of event locations, and the inclusion of some character face masks. Each map also marks important tourist attractions, presenting the natural and cultural landscapes visited by figures from the Three Kingdoms. Therefore, this book is not only a richly illustrated cultural of the Three Kingdoms but also holds certain reference value for tourism. This set of "Illustrated Three Kingdoms" is the fruit of close collaboration among interdisciplinary experts.
